Stephan Hoffmann is a German actor, voice actor, dialogue writer, and dialogue director born in 1960 in Trier, Germany. He completed his acting training at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, from 1980 to 1983. After his training, he began his performance career with engagements at the Wuppertal Bühnen and the Koblenz City Theatre, as well as a role in the production of Dantons Tod at the Salzburg Festival. His early television acting credits include a guest role in the series Derrick in 1983.

Since 1986, Hoffmann has been active as a voice actor in Munich, and he later relocated to Berlin in 2006. His extensive voice acting portfolio includes roles in numerous international film and television productions. In the realm of anime, he is known for providing the German voice for the character Enel in the series One Piece, including in the One Piece: Episode of Skypiea recap. Beyond anime, Hoffmann has voiced characters in a wide range of popular television series. He was the German voice of Thorne Forrester in the soap opera Reich und Schön, Gregory Harrison in Trapper John, M.D., and Marcus Giamatti in Für alle Fälle Amy.

In addition to his work as a performer, Stephan Hoffmann has built a significant career behind the scenes as a dialogue director and dialogue book writer. He has been responsible for the German dialogue adaptations of over 300 international films and series. His credits in this capacity include major series such as Homeland, The Newsroom, and Legion. His work also extends to acclaimed feature films, including the German adaptation of the Russian film Faust, directed by Alexander Sokurov. For his contributions to this film as co-dialogue director, Hoffmann was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2011, with Sokurov notably praising his linguistic work. He has continued to work on high-profile projects, including writing the German dialogue for the award-winning film Anatomy of a Fall. Hoffmann is also known to work as a rhetoric trainer and has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz.
