Ruka Endō is a Japanese singer, stage actress, and voice actor born on September 9 in Tokyo, Japan. She began her career as a child actor, performing in stage plays and musicals from July 1997. On April 1, 2014, she joined the agency Akihabara Dear Stage and began performing under the name Ruka. That same month, she became a member of the singing units STAR☆ANIS and AIKATSU☆STARS!, which performed songs for the Aikatsu! franchise. She served as the singing voice for three characters in the series: Akari Ōzora, Hime Shiratori, and Aria Futaba. Her role as the singing voice for Akari Ōzora began in 2014, and she continued in this capacity for the theatrical films Aikatsu! Movie and Aikatsu! Music Award: We all get a prize SHOW!. In 2016, she provided the singing voice for both Hime Shiratori and Aria Futaba in the television series Aikatsu Stars! and its accompanying film. She is noted for being one of only two members to be part of both STAR☆ANIS and AIKATSU☆STARS!, and the only one to provide the singing voice for the same character across both groups. Within AIKATSU☆STARS!, she was considered the center or group leader, largely due to singing for the main protagonist. After departing from Akihabara Dear Stage, she became a freelancer before joining the agency DoubleArrow on April 26, 2022, to focus more on voice acting. Her first credited on-screen voice roles include a small part as a schoolgirl in the anime Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories in 2014. After a hiatus from voice acting, she returned to the medium with several roles in 2023, including a student in Tomo-chan Is a Girl!, a player and a vendor in The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess, and the voice of a picture book as well as a red-haired girl in NieR: Automata Ver1.1a. For the latter series, she also provided art coordination. In 2024, she played a female student in Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote and worked as a sound producer for the same series, in addition to a role as an announcer in the second season of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a. Outside of anime, she has performed in stage productions such as YoRHa in 2015 and Gekidol The Stage as Kaworu Sakakibara in 2021. Her interests include playing the piano and horse racing. Since November 2022, she has hosted an internet radio program titled Voice Actor! Ruka Endō's Something Something.
