Akino Murata is a Japanese actress and voice actress born on October 29, 1974, in Tokyo. She began her career in entertainment as a child, participating in a children's theater group. Her entry into voice acting was facilitated by the renowned anime director Yoshiyuki Tomino, who discovered her in the late 1990s.

Murata made her voice acting debut in 1998, landing the leading role of Hime Utsumiya in Tomino's television anime series Brain Powered. This role marked the beginning of a significant collaboration with Tomino. She subsequently worked with him again on the acclaimed Turn A Gundam series, where she voiced Sochie Heim, the strong-willed second daughter of the Heim family who becomes a mobile suit pilot. Murata reprised the role of Sochie for the Turn A Gundam compilation films, Earth Light and Moon Butterfly. Beyond these notable collaborations, her anime voice credits include Enora Taft in the series Mars Daybreak.

Beyond her work in television anime, Akino Murata has contributed her voice to several video game franchises. She has voiced characters in the Super Robot Wars series, the SD Gundam G Generation series, the Another Century's Episode series, and the Gundam VS series.
