Martine Messager was a French voice actress and dubbing artist, recognized for her contributions to French-language versions of numerous animated television series from the 1970s and 1980s. Born on April 1, 1940, in Limoges, France, she had a career that spanned both on-screen acting and extensive voice work for animation. She was also known professionally under her birth name, Martine Reichenbach. Martine Messager passed away on January 10, 2007, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.

In the realm of animation, Messager is best known for her voice role as Hypsie in the iconic Franco-Japanese series Ulysses 31, which aired in 1981. She provided the voice for this character throughout the show’s twenty-six episode run. Another major role in her career was providing the second voice for the character Paola in the classic series The Mysterious Cities of Gold (Les Mystérieuses Cités d'Or).

Her other notable voice roles in animation included characters in several films and series. She lent her voice to the film Asterix in Britain (Astérix chez les Bretons), and for the French dubs of Disney films such as Lady and the Tramp (La Belle et le Clochard), where she voiced Darling, Si, and Am, as well as The Land Before Time II (Le Petit Dinosaure 2), where she played Littlefoot's Grandmother. Her television animation credits also included roles in Cathy the Little Farm Girl (Cathy la Petite Fermière), The Lost Island (L'Île Perdue), The Wild Swans (Les Cygnes Sauvages), The Little Rascals (Les Minipouss), Pole Position, and Remi.

Beyond her work as a performer, Martine Messager was also involved in dialogue adaptation for French-dubbed productions. She worked on the French adaptations for the series Astro Boy and 101 Dalmatians: The Series (Les 101 Dalmatiens - la série).

In addition to her animation voice work, Messager had an extensive career dubbing live-action television series. She was the French voice for several characters in popular American primetime soaps, including Maggie Gioberti in Falcon Crest, Jill Bennett in Knots Landing (known as Côte Ouest in French), Mavis Anderson in Dallas, and Virginia Metheny in Dynasty. She also voiced the role of Stephanie Forrester on the French version of the daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful (Amour, Gloire et Beauté). Her live-action dubbing work extended to film as well, providing the French voice for Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond film Never Say Never Again (Jamais Plus Jamais).

Martine Messager was married to film director and screenwriter Claude Mulot. The couple had one daughter together.
