René Bériard was a French actor who worked extensively in dubbing for cinema and television, including a significant body of work in animated series and films. Born René Henri Bériard in Paris, France, on September 25, 1917, he died in the same city on December 5, 1998.

While Bériard performed on-screen roles in French television and film throughout the 1960s and 1970s, he was primarily active as a voice actor. His career in dubbing was particularly prolific from the 1960s onward, where he became known for providing French voices for numerous actors in peplum films, horror movies, and major Hollywood productions.

Within the realm of animation, which is the focus of this profile, Bériard lent his voice to several iconic characters in Franco-Japanese and American animated series that were highly popular in France. He was also one of the French voices for commentator Bill Baldwin in the first three Rocky films.
