Engelbert von Nordhausen is a German actor and voice artist with a career spanning several decades. Born on January 2, 1948, in Schmölln, he initially trained as a retail salesman before pursuing acting, beginning his studies in 1966. His early career was rooted in theatre, with engagements at the Landesbühne Iserlohn, in Saarbrücken, at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin, and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. He has also appeared in film and television productions, such as Fabian and the series Praxis Bülowbogen.

In the 1970s, von Nordhausen began his extensive work in dubbing, which has become a central part of his professional life. He is widely recognized as the German standard voice for actors Samuel L. Jackson and Gene Hackman, having dubbed numerous films featuring both performers. His voice is also familiar from long-running television series, where he dubbed Bill Cosby in Die Bill Cosby Show and Raymond Burr in the role of Perry Mason. Beyond live-action, his voice is prominent in animation, where he has taken on iconic roles such as Fred Feuerstein in various incarnations of The Flintstones, the pilot Quack in DuckTales, and the alien captain Gantu in the Lilo & Stitch franchise, including the anime series Stitch!.
