Asami Okamoto

Asami Okamoto is a freelance voice actress from Tokyo, Japan. She was born on December 22, 1974, and is a former contract talent with the agencies Aoni Production and Troubadour Ongaku Jimusho. Her career in voice acting began in 1997 when she landed her debut role as Asuka Hoshino in the game and subsequent anime series Sentimental Journey (also known as Sentimental Graffiti) shortly before graduating from university.

Okamoto is perhaps best recognized for her work in the mid-2000s, particularly her role as Kano Kirishima in the acclaimed series Air. She is also known for portraying Kano Kirishima in the same franchise. Her other notable voice roles include BB in Crush Gear Turbo, a character named Makoto in the ONchan Yume Power Daibouken! special, and supporting parts in World Masterpiece Theater productions such as Marie in Les Misérables: Shoujo Cosette and Cristal in Porphy no Nagai Tabi.

Throughout her career, which was primarily active from 1997 until around 2008, Okamoto collaborated with several industry colleagues on multiple projects. She frequently worked with voice actresses including Yumi Toma, Hiromi Konno, and Mariko Kouda, all of whom appeared alongside her in both Air and Porphy no Nagai Tabi. During her early career, she was part of a group of six actresses known as the "Usagi Gumi" (Rabbit Group) alongside Hiromi Konno, Yuki Makishima, and others, all belonging to the same talent agency at the time.
