Her career in the entertainment industry began not with voice acting, but as a reader model for fashion magazines like CUTiE, which led to her being scouted by a talent manager. She subsequently became an exclusive model for the magazine Seventeen from 2003 to 2006.

Kudō made her debut as a voice actress in 2005, landing the role of Hagumi Hanamoto in the television anime adaptation of Honey and Clover. She returned to voice acting in earnest, joining the agency Sigma Seven in 2011 before becoming a freelancer in 2014. Since 2017, she has been affiliated with Ace Crew Entertainment, though her contract with them ended in March 2025, and she is now working as a freelancer.

She has also had long-running roles in children's programming, such as Poppo-chan in Soreike! Anpanman. In the early 2020s, she took on the roles of Minori Tochino in Tōgane! Omatsuri-Bu and its sequel Tōgane! Chronicle, as well as the title role of Kaini in the 2023 theatrical anime Jinzō Mahō Shōjo Kaini.

A significant and transformative role in her career has been as Sayo Hikawa in the popular BanG Dream! multimedia franchise. Joining the project in 2016, she not only provides the character's voice but also plays the guitar for the franchise's real-life band, Roselia, performing at live concerts.

Kudō expanded her artistic endeavors by making a solo debut as a singer and songwriter in 2020 under the stage name KDHR. Her music spans genres like J-pop and loud rock, and she has released multiple mini-albums and a full album, embarking on live tours across Japan. She is also noted for her skill in illustration, a talent she has had since childhood.
