Akari Harashima
Description
Akari Harashima is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on March 9, 1990, in Hokkaido. She is affiliated with the Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society (Haikyo). Her decision to become a voice actor was inspired by her older sister during her elementary school years. She trained at the Amusement Media Academy while in high school and initially joined Aoni Production in 2010 before becoming a freelancer and eventually joining her current agency in 2015.
Harashima's early career included a variety of minor roles in television animation, with appearances in series such as One Piece, Saint Seiya Omega, and Tamako Market. Her filmography also includes work in original video animations (OVAs). A notable early role was providing the voice of Misuzu in the 2010 and 2012 OVA adaptations of the surreal comedy manga Yuri Seijin Naoko-san. Another significant OVA credit is Rui Tsutsumi in Futari Ecchi in 2014.
In video games, Harashima has contributed motion capture work for major titles in the Tales series, including Elle Mel Marta in Tales of Xillia 2, Edna in Tales of Zestiria, and Laphicet in Tales of Berseria. However, her most prominent and defining role is Iku Nakatani in The Idolmaster Million Live!, a spin-off of the popular The Idolmaster franchise. She has voiced the character across multiple game releases, including the 2017 mobile game The Idolmaster Million Live! Theater Days, and reprised the role for the character's appearance in the 2023 anime adaptation. Her performance as part of the franchise, including with the unit TIntMe!, has contributed to charting singles on the Oricon charts.
In 2019, she was cast as Megumi Sasahara in the anime series Fire in His Fingertips -My Childhood Friend is a Fireman-. Beyond acting, Harashima was also the vocalist for a musical group called ChocoNekoB, though the group's activities were indefinitely suspended in March 2018. She is a certified food sanitation manager and has a hobby of collecting Kutusita Nyanko merchandise.
