Description
A year has passed since Ayaka’s relentless pursuit finally won over her senior colleague Hiroko, and the couple now lives together. While Ayaka is overjoyed to share a home with the woman she loves, she has grown vaguely worried. Hiroko has entered a super-doting mode, treating Ayaka with such care that she refuses to make any physical advances, wanting to avoid hurting her. This leaves Ayaka feeling more like a cherished pet than a romantic partner. The situation is complicated further by a critical misunderstanding: after a night of drinking, Hiroko woke up with no memory of what happened and mistakenly believes the two have already slept together, while Ayaka knows they have not.
As these unspoken frustrations build, the pair drifts apart, each unable to communicate their true feelings. Their separate anxieties lead them both to the Spa Resort Hawaiians, a tropical destination in Hawaii, though for entirely different reasons. Hiroko is there to attend her younger sister Keiko’s long-delayed wedding, a family event that forces her to confront her reluctance to come out. Ayaka arrives for a work assignment with her junior colleague Misato Ebina. Upon arrival, Ayaka spots Hiroko arm-in-arm with an unfamiliar woman, Keiko, and immediately suspects infidelity, setting off a comedic chase through the resort.
The wedding trip also introduces Hiroko’s young niece Tsumugi, who adores her aunt and sees Ayaka as a rival for Hiroko’s affection. Back in the city, the couple’s social circle expands at their local lesbian bar. Two new figures emerge to stoke further jealousy: Jun, a suave former Takarazuka star and legendary womanizer who returns from Los Angeles and takes an interest in Ayaka, and Anri, a mysterious advertising executive who meets Hiroko by chance and seems poised to shake up the relationship. As the misunderstandings multiply, Hiroko struggles with her "perfect complex," believing she must be flawless to deserve Ayaka’s love, while Ayaka grows increasingly distressed and confused by her partner’s emotional distance. The series builds toward a resolution where Ayaka must finally declare her love openly to Hiroko’s family, forcing both women to confront what they truly want from their relationship.
