Description
Wim Strauss is a granting caster, a support mage whose spells increase the strength and abilities of his allies. While useful, his magic cannot be used for direct attack, leading his party to dismiss his contributions as dead weight. After his quiet power bruises the pride of the party's leader, Wim is unceremoniously expelled, leaving his adventuring career in doubt.
His fortunes change when his childhood friend Heidemarie, a powerful sage who has always believed in him, arranges an audition with her elite A-rank guild, Nachtlibelle. Heidemarie is a key member of this renowned group, counted among the strongest in the land, and she is determined to give Wim a fresh start among allies who will truly value his unique talents. Joining Nachtlibelle, Wim begins to work with a new, quirky crew where his support magic is not only respected but seen as a cornerstone of their strategy.
As he comes out of his shell and gains confidence, Wim discovers that his abilities extend far beyond simple backup. He starts applying his powerful buffs to himself, unlocking new potential and revealing that a support caster can hold his own on the front lines. The story follows his journey of self-discovery as he proves that the most underestimated mage can become a true game-changer, gradually realizing that his power was never weak, only misunderstood.
The television anime adaptation is produced by the studio J.C. Staff and directed by Hideki Okamoto, with series composition by Takao Yoshioka and music composed by Yuki Hayashi, Luke Standridge, and Asa Taylor. The main cast includes Reiji Kawashima as the voice of Wim Strauss and Hana Hishikawa as Heidemarie.
