Description
Bido is a fictional character from the Dragon Ball franchise, appearing as a primary antagonist in the 1993 film Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound. He is a member of an extraterrestrial race known as the Hera clan and serves as one of the four elite warriors under the command of the main villain, Bojack, often referred to as a Galaxy Soldier. In terms of appearance, Bido shares several physical traits with his comrades. He has teal-colored skin and orange hair styled into a prominent mohawk, and he also sports an orange horseshoe-shaped mustache. His name is derived from the Japanese word hidō, which means unjust or monstrous, a fitting description for his role in the story.

In terms of personality, Bido is depicted as cruel, merciless, and entirely lacking in remorse for his violent actions. He shows no hesitation in killing weaker opponents and seems to take a grim satisfaction in his work, even smirking directly at a camera after committing a murder during a tournament match. He is completely loyal to his master, Bojack, and is confident in his leader's overwhelming power, to the point of boasting that Bojack has no equal. Bido's primary motivation is simply to serve Bojack's goal of universal conquest, assisting in the elimination of any fighters on Earth who might pose an obstacle to his master's plans.

Bido's role in the story of Bojack Unbound is that of a major henchman. After Bojack is freed from a seal placed on him by the Kais, Bido and the other Galaxy Soldiers follow their boss to Earth. They infiltrate a martial arts tournament, where Bido personally confronts and brutally strangles a sumo wrestler named Dosukoi, killing him instantly. He later participates in the group's assault on the Earth's protectors. Bido teams up with his fellow soldier Zangya to easily defeat the fighter Yamcha. He then works in concert with Bujin and Zangya to overwhelm a Super Saiyan Gohan, demonstrating that their combined strength is formidable even against a powerful opponent. Near the climax of the film, after Gohan is pushed to his limits, he transforms into a Super Saiyan 2. In this state, Gohan's power is far beyond Bido's ability to handle. Bido is killed almost instantly, being torn in half by a single punch from the enraged young Saiyan, which simultaneously vaporizes him.

Bido has key relationships with the other members of Bojack's crew. He often collaborates directly with his comrade Bujin in battle, using a specific and effective tactic. Bujin would ensnare an opponent with energy needles in a technique called Psycho Thread, and Bido would then move in to deliver the finishing blow. This suggests a level of tactical understanding and teamwork between the two warriors. He also fights alongside Zangya, as seen when they double-team Yamcha, and he follows the orders of his master, Bojack, without question.

Regarding his development, Bido is a static character who does not undergo any significant change or growth. He is introduced as a powerful and cruel enforcer and remains so until his sudden death. His only narrative purpose is to serve as an obstacle for the heroes, demonstrating the threat level of Bojack's crew before being effortlessly dispatched to showcase the immense power of Gohan's new Super Saiyan 2 transformation.

Bido possesses a number of notable abilities common to advanced warriors in the Dragon Ball universe. He has superhuman strength, speed, and durability, as well as the ability to fly using his ki and to fire energy blasts. He has several named techniques. One is the Brave Gatling, where he points all ten fingers at an opponent, charges a small red energy sphere on each fingertip, and fires a barrage of red ki beams. Another is the Underground Energy Ball, a technique where he launches an energy projectile that travels through the ground before erupting in a massive explosion beneath his target. He also uses a simple Finger Beam attack and is a user of the Psycho Thread technique, which fires energy needles capable of binding a victim and draining their strength. Bido is considered the powerhouse of Bojack's crew, relying on his immense brute force in combat, often in conjunction with the more strategic attacks of his partner, Bujin.
