OVA
Description
Mihoshi Mizutani appears in the Magical Girl Pretty Sammy series as a reimagined version of the Tenchi Muyo! character Mihoshi Kuramitsu. In the original Pretty Sammy OVA, she works part‑time at the CD Vision music store alongside her friend Kiyone Yuri, a job that belongs to the Kawai family. She is also a college student, and her academic commitments often make her absent from the store. Mihoshi is bright, cheerful, and friendly, but she comes across as somewhat clueless and naive. She readily believes improbable stories, such as the tale Washu Kobayashi tells upon arriving in town, and she retells events with slightly skewed details, demonstrating her scatterbrained but good‑natured approach to life.

In the television series Magical Project S, Mihoshi takes on the role of Sasami Kawai’s homeroom teacher. She is portrayed as a very laid‑back and cheerful educator who nonetheless teaches her students competently. She enjoys encouraging them, cheering for them, and maintaining a friendly rapport with her class. The series also implies that she and fellow teacher Kiyone Amayuri have known each other since junior high school, and Mihoshi regards Kiyone as her best friend.

Mihoshi’s personality is defined by her sunny disposition, her tendency to be absent‑minded, and her genuine desire to help others. She lacks deep personal ambitions; her motivations center on doing her job well, supporting her friends, and staying positive even in chaotic situations. Her role in the story is primarily as a supporting character—either as a friend and coworker in the OVA or as a nurturing teacher in the television series. She does not participate directly in the magical battles, but her presence adds warmth and everyday normalcy to the world around Pretty Sammy.

Her key relationships include her close friendship with Kiyone Yuri (or Kiyone Amayuri), her respectful but slightly confused interactions with Tenchi Kawai, and her fondness for her students. There is little notable character development across the series; Mihoshi remains consistently cheerful and slightly absent‑minded from beginning to end. She has no magical abilities and does not transform. Her notable traits are her optimism, her mild clumsiness, and her inadvertent knack for misremembering facts, all of which make her a memorable and endearing figure in the ensemble cast.
