Description
Kae Serinuma is the central protagonist of her story, a high school student whose life dramatically changes following an unexpected personal crisis. Before this event, she is a self-identified fujoshi, a term for female fans of boys' love media, which features romantic relationships between male characters. Her greatest joy comes from observing the boys around her and imagining them in romantic scenarios with each other, a hobby she shares with her similarly inclined best friend, A-chan. Physically, she is initially portrayed as overweight with a simple fashion sense, including round glasses, a look that reflects her primary focus on her otaku interests rather than her own appearance.
The catalyst for the story is the death of her favorite anime character, Shion. Plunged into a deep state of grief, Kae locks herself in her room for an entire week and refuses to eat.
