Description
Easy is a mysterious and powerful figure who appears as an antagonist to the Drifters, serving as the direct counterpart to the enigmatic man known as Murasaki. She is a young woman of a slender build, most often depicted wearing a dark, gothic-style dress and gloves, which complements her overall aesthetic of shadow and darkness. She has long black hair and purple eyes, and her presence in the white, seemingly infinite corridor of doors is almost always accompanied by a creeping, tangible darkness that contrasts sharply with the light associated with Murasaki.
In the grand conflict of the narrative, Easy is the one responsible for summoning the Ends, historical figures who were rejected or abandoned by humanity in their final moments and who harbor a deep-seated hatred for humankind. Unlike the Drifters, who retain their human abilities and ingenuity, the Ends are often granted overt supernatural powers by Easy, making them incredibly formidable opponents designed to crush all obstacles through sheer force. Her words to those she recruits are "Come with me... you who have been abandoned," directly appealing to their resentment and promising them a chance to bring about destruction.
Easy's personality is portrayed as brash, cocky, and confrontational, especially in her interactions with Murasaki. She appears to be far more emotionally invested in their ancient rivalry, often appearing in the corridor to taunt him, boasting that her Ends will be victorious or dismissing him by stating that he is "only a social worker". While Murasaki takes a hands-off approach, allowing his Drifters to exercise their free will, Easy is more directly controlling, treating their conflict like an aggressive game of chess where she actively seeks to checkmate her opponent. She monitors the progress of her Ends through a laptop, a technological counterpart to Murasaki's newspaper, and has a tendency to react with frustration or outbursts when her plans go awry, as shown when she exclaims in confusion and anger at his unexpected moves.
The role Easy plays in the story is that of the primary force of opposition, though her ultimate intentions remain deliberately obscured. The name "Easy" is not her true name but an acronym, with "EA" known to stand for Eternal Ambassador, suggesting a much older and more complex origin than her youthful appearance implies. Her relationship with Murasaki is the central axis of the entire conflict. They appear to be two god-like or immortal beings locked in a proxy war across multiple worlds, using historical figures as their chess pieces. While Murasaki embodies strategy, humanity, and free will, Easy represents overwhelming power, vengeance, and a direct dominion over her followers. Their dynamic has been interpreted by some as a profound ideological disagreement or even a cosmic-scale personal quarrel, with Easy acting out of a sense of frustration or rejection regarding her counterpart.
In terms of abilities, Easy does not directly engage in physical combat herself. Her power is primarily one of authority and manipulation. She is able to traverse the dimensional corridor at will and exert control over the Ends she summons, binding them to her cause. She also demonstrates the ability to manipulate the reality of the corridor itself, turning the space dark and altering the news on Murasaki's newspaper to display her own propaganda or victories. This control over darkness and information, combined with her role as the summoner of the Ends, establishes her not as a warrior but as a commander and a force of nature, directing the destruction of worlds from her throne of shadows.
