Description
Gingka Hagane is the central protagonist of the Beyblade: Metal Fusion series, a young and exceptionally talented blader whose life is defined by his passion for the sport. His background is rooted in a personal tragedy that fuels his early journey. He lived peacefully in Koma Village with his father, Ryo Hagane, until the Dark Nebula organization stole a powerful and forbidden bey called Lightning L Drago. In a battle against the blader Ryuga, who wielded L Drago, the ensuing clash caused a cave-in that supposedly claimed his father's life. Before the incident, his father entrusted him with the bey Storm Pegasus, which Gingka uses to travel the country in search of strong opponents, hoping one day to confront Ryuga and avenge his father.

Gingka's personality is a blend of laid-back cheerfulness and intense, hot-blooded determination. He is often seen sleeping in unusual places and has an enormous, frequently unfulfilled craving for hamburgers, which he much prefers over hot dogs. Despite this carefree demeanor, he becomes fiercely serious and loyal when his friends or his beyblade are threatened. He is known for his unwavering belief in the power of friendship and the spirit of a blader, often insisting that beybattles are meant to be fun. However, he carries a deep-seated and deranged hatred for Ryuga, which can consume him and cause him to abandon his principles in his desire for revenge. He also has a notable fear of doctors, medicine, and especially needles.

His primary motivation evolves throughout his journey. Initially, he is driven by a singular goal to defeat Ryuga and reclaim his father's honor. As he travels, he finds new purpose in protecting his friends, like the young blader Kenta and the mechanic Madoka, and in stopping the Dark Nebula's evil plans. His role in the story is that of a heroic leader and an inspirational figure. He is a member of the team Gan Gan Galaxy and becomes known worldwide for saving the world on multiple occasions, including ending the dark power of L Drago and vanquishing the god of destruction, Nemesis. He holds the title of the number one blader in the world and is one of the Legendary Bladers, representing the season of Autumn and the planet Earth.

Gingka's key relationships shape his development significantly. His friendship with Kenta Yumiya begins when he rescues him from bullies, and he becomes a mentor-like figure to the younger boy. Kyoya Tategami, the former leader of the Face Hunters, is his greatest rival; their dynamic is one of constant competition and mutual respect, with Gingka serving as the excitable red oni to Kyoya's stoic blue oni. Madoka Amano becomes an essential ally, providing mechanical support and repairing his beyblade at her shop, the B-Pit. His most complex relationship is with Ryuga, his sworn enemy, whom he eventually seeks not just to defeat but to save from the corrupting power of his own bey.

Throughout the series, Gingka undergoes considerable development. He starts as a solitary drifter, focused only on revenge, but grows into a selfless leader who values camaraderie above all else. He learns to control his immense anger and channels it into protecting others. His skill as a blader evolves from relying on raw power to mastering advanced techniques and forming a deeper bond with his bey. He progresses from using Storm Pegasus, which is sacrificed to defeat Ryuga, to wielding the more powerful and initially uncontrollable Galaxy Pegasus, and finally evolving it into Big Bang Pegasus with the power of a star fragment.

As a blader, Gingka possesses notable abilities, including the capacity to copy the special moves of his opponents. His battle style is aggressive and attack-oriented, perfectly matching his Pegasus beys. He is known for a series of powerful finishing moves. With Storm Pegasus, he uses the Shooting Star Attack, also known as Starblast Attack, where Pegasus launches a high-speed dive from the sky. He also uses Tornado Wing and the spinning counter, Storm Bringer. With Galaxy Pegasus, he performs the more powerful Stargazer Attack and the ultimate Galaxy Nova. His final evolution, Big Bang Pegasus, allows him to use the devastating Cosmic Tornado and Stardust Driver attacks.
