Description
Chase Suno is the main protagonist of the Monsuno series, a fifteen-year-old boy whose life is turned upside down when his scientist father, Jeredy Suno, mysteriously disappears. Before vanishing, his father left behind a special gift for his son: the first Monsuno he ever reanimated, a powerful creature named Lock, along with the means to control it. This event serves as the catalyst for Chase’s journey, setting him on a path to find his missing father, master the battle potential of his Monsuno, and build a team of like-minded Adepts to protect the world.

In terms of personality, Chase is defined by his confidence and natural charisma. He is inherently heroic, clever, and thrives on challenges, often displaying the traits of a natural-born leader. He is also a risk-taker and an adrenaline junkie, willing to go to any lengths to complete his objectives, even as he carries the serious responsibility of finding his family and saving the world. Despite his heroic nature, he shows a materialistic side, frequently requesting and receiving new gadgets, cores, and vehicles from his father, sometimes without a practical reason. He is also notably forgiving of his father's neglect, provided he receives new technology in return. A more peculiar aspect of his character, revealed in the episode Light, is that he is an avid reader of erotic romance literature, with some speculation suggesting he might even be a writer in the same genre.

Chase's primary motivation is to locate his father, Jeredy Suno, a legendary scientist who unlocked the mystery of the Monsuno. Intertwined with this personal quest is the larger goal of protecting Monsuno from falling into the wrong hands. He stands against forces like the secretive government agency S.T.O.R.M., which seeks to weaponize the creatures, and various other adversaries such as the Darkspin gang and Dr. Klipse. He forms and leads a team called Core-Tech, bringing together a group of friends who join him on his mission.

Throughout the story, Chase builds and maintains several key relationships. His most significant bond is with his Monsuno partner, Lock, a large, powerful creature resembling a hybrid of a polar bear, gorilla, and tiger. He is the leader of his friend group, which includes his best friend Bren, the intelligent Jinja, the former monk Beyal, and the rebellious Dax, all of whom he convinces to work together as a team. His relationship with his absent father is a driving force of the plot, and their reunions are marked by Jeredy often providing Chase with new Monsuno or gear, such as the Monsuno Evo and new launch gear during their first meeting in the episode Appleseeds.

Chase undergoes notable development over the course of the series. Initially coping with his father's disappearance, he must rise to the challenge of becoming a true hero. A central part of his growth involves learning to truly coexist and "sync" with Lock. This is a recurring struggle, as seen in episodes like Lost, where Lock runs away after a disagreement, and Light, where their incomplete synchronization causes Lock to go wild. In the episode Shadow, he experiences the "Shadow Effect," which turns Monsuno against their controllers, but he successfully reverses it by deeply syncing with Lock. He also learns the value of his friends; in the episode Trust, he initially accepts an invitation to join a powerful ally named Jon Ace but ultimately turns back, realizing that he needs his team by his side.

As a Monsuno Adept, Chase possesses notable abilities. He is a skilled strategist and leader, capable of directing his team in complex battles. Over time, he controls a large arsenal of Monsuno cores, far more than any other member of his team. Besides his primary partner, Lock, his known Monsuno include Evo, Nitestone, Babeon, Deepsix, Batteram, and more powerful forms like Hyper Driftblade and Hyper Ironjaw. Physically, he is described as having a moderately athletic build, with black hair, teal eyes, and a distinctive outfit consisting of a black V-neck shirt, brown pants, and a blue-trimmed white jacket without a hood. He also wears a necklace given to him by his mother at birth.
