Shigorō Hikizuri belongs to the six orphaned Hikizuri siblings residing together in their family home after their parents' deaths. Alongside Kazuya, Kiko, Narumi, Hitoshi, and Misako, they navigate life without parental oversight. During a sibling-led séance to contact their deceased parents, Shigorō witnesses Kazuya falsely claim possession by their father’s spirit and declare himself household head. This lie ignites violent conflict among the siblings, escalating to physical aggression where they tear at each other’s bodies. The clash halts only when their father’s genuine ghost manifests, forcing Shigorō and his siblings to flee in terror. Before this event, Shigorō and his siblings orchestrated Kotani’s death after the boy sheltered Narumi during her attempted escape from their home. They collectively frightened Kotani to death, buried him, and later referenced "rolling him up tightly" during burial, as noted by Misako. This history contextualizes their dynamics but remains unadapted in the anime. Shigorō’s actions unfold solely within the sibling group, devoid of individual storylines. His role revolves around familial strife, supernatural encounters, and the repercussions of their isolated, macabre existence.
