Movie
Description
Rikka Takarada is a central high school student who operates Junk Shop Aya alongside her mother. She possesses long, glossy black hair often worn down over her shoulders, revealing her ears, along with distinctive blue eyes featuring pink tints. Her signature outfit includes a collared shirt with a red bow, a white sweater with yellow buttons, a black skirt, pink socks, and brown shoes. She typically wears an orange scrunchy on her right wrist, sometimes using it to tie her hair. This design incorporates elements inspired by Transformers' Shattered Glass Megatron, reflected in color schemes and accessory placement.

Rikka is not human but a Repli-Compoid, created by Akane Shinjo using kaiju to serve as Akane's idealized closest friend, with enhancements to her appearance. This origin becomes pivotal when Akane is revealed as the orchestrator of kaiju attacks threatening their city. Despite her programmed role, contact with Gridman and assistance from Samurai Calibur grant Rikka autonomy, freeing her from Akane's control and awakening mediumship abilities. This allows her to perceive Akane's concealed Venoras, entities normally invisible to other Repli-Compoids.

Personality-wise, Rikka exhibits a reserved yet empathetic nature. She consistently aids others, sheltering the amnesiac Yuta Hibiki and offering food and refuge to the stranger Anti during rainstorms. She demonstrates deep loyalty, mourning classmates like Tonkawa despite limited connections. Her bond with Akane creates profound conflict; Rikka initially refuses to believe Akane's villainy and opposes direct confrontation, causing arguments within the Gridman Alliance. This culminates in a temporary estrangement when Akane threatens their school festival with Mecha Ghoulghilas. Rikka resolves her internal struggle by accepting her identity and dedicating herself to redeeming Akane, realigning her with the team.

Her actions prove critical to Gridman's successes throughout the initial series. She relays strategic messages during battles, provides shelter for allies, and types the "GRIDMAN" access code to unlock Gridman's true form during the final confrontation with Alexis Kerib. After Akane's defeat, Rikka gives her a pink pass case symbolizing their fractured but enduring connection.

In the film sequel, now in her second year but separated from Yuta's class due to academic tracking, Rikka adopts a modified costume: a black shirt, sleeveless sweater, and longer socks. Her demeanor becomes less aloof, openly showing concern for Yuta's safety as he repeatedly transforms into Gridman, fearing potential memory loss or injury. Rumors about dating an older student are later clarified as involving her brother. Her relationship with Yuta progresses from unresolved tension to an official couple; she expresses gratitude for his delayed confession, acknowledging it allowed her reciprocal feelings to develop naturally. During crises, she manages logistics for multiple visiting allies, including the Neon Genesis Junior High Students and Dynazenon team.

Rikka stands 155 cm tall, was born on December 5, and has blood type O. She cannot consume carbonated drinks and once worked as a hair model in Aoyama. Her fast typing speed is recognized as an asset during Gridman's access sequences.
