TV-Series
Description
Masaya Hoshi, a police detective investigating the new God selection, first appeared witnessing the battle at the mirror house. He later focused on identifying the deceased Metropoliman before others intervened. Hoshi possessed an average height and youthful features, typically wearing a formal black business suit and circular glasses.
He approached the remaining God candidates, waiting outside Mirai Kakehashi's school to make contact. Hoshi revealed his superiors ordered the capture of all candidates, a directive he opposed. He introduced Mirai to his fiancée and subordinate, Manami Yumiki, emphasizing their mutual trust and respect. When Manami later fell under the influence of a red arrow fired by Saki Hanakago, Hoshi expressed alarm at such power existing.
Hoshi explained that global authorities targeted the candidates, with spies actively hunting them, particularly Mirai due to his possession of a white arrow. Capture would lead to brainwashing and transformation into assassination tools, aiming to prevent a global crisis. He offered assistance to the candidates while requesting their help tracking down the remaining contenders.
For their safety, Hoshi relocated Mirai and others to a secure apartment equipped with surveillance cameras. He observed Manami's red arrow-induced behavior firsthand. After Manami shot him with a red arrow, they moved the candidates to an emergency shelter at the station. Despite government insistence on capturing the candidates, Hoshi prioritized resolving the situation quickly for everyone's safety.
Years after the God selection concluded, he attained the position of deputy chief of police. Ultimately, he vanished along with the rest of humanity when the new God committed suicide.
