Description
Shouta Magatsuchi is a young boy from a modern-day mage family, possessing purple hair and eyes. His bangs extend below his eyebrows, contributing to an androgynous appearance. He typically wears a blue long-sleeve shirt, green pants, and blue sneakers.
Born into a magician lineage, Shouta demonstrated foundational arcane knowledge. He attempted a demon-summoning ritual, inadvertently summoning the dragon deity Quetzalcoatl (Lucoa) through his portal. Mistaking her imposing presence and seductive behavior, particularly her large breasts, for a demon, Shouta reacted with intense embarrassment and fear, frequently fleeing or accusing her of being a succubus. Their relationship became central to his development. Lucoa’s playful teasing and physical affection consistently flustered him, though he gradually formed a complex bond with her. In Chapter 46, he confronted her about feeling infantilized, leading Lucoa to acknowledge his potential as a great wizard and express gratitude for ending her loneliness through his summoning. This deepened their connection, and Shouta later showed protectiveness over Lucoa during a magic duel, defending her from insults.
Shouta attended elementary school alongside Kanna Kamui and Riko Saikawa, with minimal interactions; he was briefly seen sharing steamed buns with them during a school play rehearsal. Classmates often perceived Lucoa as his older sister. His father, Kobayashi’s employer, occasionally placed him under her care, an arrangement that primarily facilitated Lucoa’s involvement.
Shouta’s experiences across episodes and OVAs included joining Kobayashi, Tohru, and Kanna at the beach despite preferring indoor activities; participating in a sports festival where Lucoa’s assistance led to victories; and being cast in a school play. He initially fled his role out of embarrassment before accepting a smaller part. Seasonal events featured prominently: during New Year’s Eve, he visited a shrine with Lucoa and later dreamed of her in symbolic costumes; for Setsubun, he threw beans at her while she wore an oni mask. In an OVA, he declined Lucoa’s offer to buy a keychain at a spa resort, though Takiya later gifted it to him. Dreams involving Lucoa’s breasts or affectionate scenarios recurred, highlighting his ongoing internal conflict.
Shouta’s magical abilities remained underdeveloped beyond ritual setup. His name etymologically links to "shotacon," a genre alluding to youthful male appeal, reflecting the narrative’s use of his dynamic with Lucoa.
