Description
Allelujah Haptism is a Gundam Meister and a central figure in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, its second season, and the film A Wakening of the Trailblazer. As a child, he was kidnapped and subjected to the Human Reform League's super soldier program, designated as test subject E-0057. The experiments involved surgical implantation of quantum brainwaves intended to enhance combat capabilities, but instead fractured his psyche, creating a second, violent personality he calls Hallelujah. In the facility, he formed a deep bond with a girl named Marie Parfacy, who gave him his name. He later escaped during a violent incident where Hallelujah took control, leading to the deaths of other test subjects, an event that left Allelujah with immense guilt.

Allelujah is generally quiet, gentle, and introspective, deeply disliking killing and feeling genuine remorse for the lives he must take as a soldier. He joined the paramilitary organization Celestial Being because he believes in its goal of ending war, hoping to use his unwanted abilities to create a world where no one else suffers as he did. In stark contrast, his alter ego Hallelujah is cruel, bloodthirsty, and driven purely by survival instinct, amused by destruction and willing to eliminate anyone perceived as a threat. The two personalities are in constant conflict: Allelujah governs rational thought and tactical thinking, while Hallelujah governs reflexes and battle intuition. Their true potential as a super soldier is unlocked when they set aside their differences and unite their strengths, creating a dual-processing combatant of unparalleled skill.

By the second season, Allelujah has been captured and imprisoned after Celestial Being’s defeat. His primary motivation becomes deeply personal: to find Marie Parfacy, who has been operating as the enemy super-soldier Soma Peries and lost her memory of their shared past. After being rescued, he returns to battle in the transformable GN-007 Arios Gundam, focused on making her remember and freeing her from being used as a weapon. His persistent efforts succeed, restoring her memories and allowing her to join Celestial Being as Marie. He learns to accept Hallelujah as part of himself rather than a curse, and the two personalities begin to cooperate.

In the film, set in the year 2314, Allelujah has left Celestial Being with Marie to find a new reason for living outside of combat. When the Extraterrestrial Living-metal Shape-shifters invade Earth, they return. Allelujah pilots the GN-011 Gundam Harute, a transformable mobile suit designed for high-speed assault, operating it in a dual-cockpit system with Marie. Facing an unprecedented threat, he willingly unites with Hallelujah one final time, merging their consciousness to become the ultimate super soldier and defend humanity.

As a super soldier, Allelujah possesses a physically conditioned body and quantum brainwaves that grant him extraordinary spatial awareness, superhuman reflexes, and a limited form of telepathy, allowing him to sense and communicate with other quantum brainwave users. This connection is strongest with Marie. His skills make him uniquely suited to pilot transformable mobile suits, and his combat effectiveness reaches its peak when his two personalities achieve perfect synchronization, erasing the line between thought and reflex.
