Description
Mamori Anezaki is a main character in the story. She is a high school student at Deimon Private Senior High School and serves as the club manager for the Deimon Devil Bats, the school’s American football team. Mamori is the childhood friend of the protagonist, Sena Kobayakawa. Their mothers met in a cooking class, and the two have been close ever since. Mamori has a mixed heritage through her mother, who is half-Japanese and half-American, making Mamori one-quarter American and three-quarters Japanese. From an early age, she took on a protective, almost maternal role toward Sena, shielding him from bullies during their elementary and middle school years. This habit of looking out for him continues into high school.
When Sena is forced by Yoichi Hiruma to join the Devil Bats, Mamori initially opposes the idea but eventually decides to join the team herself as its manager. Her stated purpose is to watch over Sena and prevent what she sees as bullying from Hiruma and the other team members. Over time, however, Mamori develops a genuine interest in the sport.
