Description
Blair is a magical creature who first appears as a seemingly powerful witch living in a pumpkin-shaped house within a haunted forest. Her true nature, however, is that of a monster cat, a feline with immense innate magical power that rivals that of a genuine witch. This misconception forms the basis of her introduction, as the meister-weapon team of Maka Albarn and Soul Eater attempt to claim her soul to complete Soul's transformation into a Death Scythe, only to discover she is not a witch at all.

In her primary humanoid form, Blair possesses a tall and alluring figure characterized by large breasts and a curvaceous build. She has short violet hair with long strands that curl upwards on each side of her face, purple cat-like ears, and bright golden-yellow feline eyes. Her typical attire consists of a revealing black dress that exposes her shoulders and is paired with a wide-brimmed, pointed witch's hat that curls at the tip, long detached sleeves, and thigh-high boots with curled toes. She also maintains a natural cat form, which is her original shape, and can shift between the two at will without any loss of her magical abilities or speech.

Blair's personality is defined by a playful, flirtatious, and generally optimistic demeanor. She delights in seeking out fun and excitement, often acting on whims without considering the consequences for others. A key aspect of her character is her confidence in her own seductive powers and physical appeal, which she uses freely to tease and entice male characters, most notably calling Soul Eater "Scythe Boy" and frequently appearing before him in states of undress. Despite her frivolous exterior, she possesses a shrewd understanding of people's emotions and can be surprisingly insightful. However, she also displays selfish tendencies, such as using money given for one purpose to buy herself luxury items, and her moral compass is somewhat flexible, as seen when she gifts Maka a set of provocative lingerie.

Within the story, Blair's primary role is that of a supporting character and a resident source of comic relief. After her initial defeat by Maka and Soul, which results in her losing one of her nine lives, she voluntarily moves into their apartment for no stated reason other than a desire to be near them. Her presence is reluctantly accepted, and she becomes an eccentric roommate and neighbor to the main characters. Her actions inadvertently serve as a complication, such as when her magical soul derailed the protagonists' mission, but she also provides occasional assistance. For instance, she has demonstrated her power by single-handedly dealing with the evil spirit known as the Flying Dutchman and working alongside the DWMA on certain quests. She also holds a job as a hostess at a bar called Chupa♡Cabra's, a place frequented by the Death Scythe Spirit Albarn.

Her key relationships are primarily with the residents of Death City. She shares a unique household with Maka and Soul, acting as an uninvited but accepted guest. Her dynamic with Soul is heavily laced with one-sided flirtation, while her relationship with Maka is a complex mix of friendship and rivalry, as Blair sometimes teases Soul specifically to provoke a reaction from Maka. She is also on friendly terms with Spirit Albarn, with whom she shares a flirtatious rapport and acts as a confidant. Among her own kind, she considers Mizune, a witch who can transform into a mouse, to be a rival, a sentiment stemming from their opposing animal natures.

In terms of development, Blair remains a largely static character, providing consistent comic relief and chaotic energy. Her most significant narrative purpose is fulfilled in her debut, where her existence forces Maka and Soul to restart their quest from the beginning, establishing a major plot point. Later in the series, she is shown participating in more serious missions, such as infiltrating the Book of Erebus alongside other characters, where her powers and adaptable nature prove useful.

Blair's notable abilities are extensive and stem from her nature as a monster cat. Her magic is themed around pumpkins, and she almost always prefaces her spells with the incantation "Pump-Pumpkin, Pumpkin". Her offensive techniques include the Halloween Cannon, which fires a powerful pumpkin-shaped projectile, and the Smashing Pumpkin, which creates a massive, heavy pumpkin that can crush enemies and explode on impact. She can also use magic for more mundane purposes, like levitating objects to cook or altering the size of items. As a cat, she possesses the signature ability of nine lives, meaning she can be killed up to eight times and still return to life. Her physical capabilities are also remarkable; even in her smaller cat form, she has shown enhanced strength and acrobatic skill, allowing her to dodge attacks from trained meisters and defeat multiple opponents at once. Her magical power is considered very high, sufficient to contend with top EAT-class students and even genuine witches, proving that her initial misidentification was not entirely without merit.
