TV-Series
Description
J.D. Morrison is a supporting character in Devil May Cry: The Animated Series who serves as Dante’s primary agent and information broker. He functions much like his predecessor Enzo, bringing Dante most of his demon-hunting job requests and acting as a chauffeur who drives him to assignments. Morrison is a calm, friendly, and patient middle-aged man who remains unflappable even in the presence of demons, a trait that distinguishes him from earlier associates. He also takes on minor handyman roles, such as fixing the television in Dante’s office when asked by the young orphan Patty. Despite Dante’s chronic indebtedness—Morrison is owed an unspecified sum of money—he continues to provide the devil hunter with work and offers practical life advice, showing a genuine, if weary, concern for his client’s well‑being. His motivations appear rooted in a sense of duty or friendship rather than profit, as he persists in bringing Dante jobs even with little confidence of ever being repaid. Morrison is one of the few people Dante trusts, forming a stable, low‑key cornerstone of the series’ supporting cast. He does not engage in combat or display supernatural abilities; his strengths lie in his network of contacts, his reliability as a driver, and his unruffled demeanor in the face of danger. Over the course of the anime, Morrison remains a consistent and dependable figure, offering both logistical support and a grounding presence amid Dante’s chaotic lifestyle.
