Description
Alv is an ES member of the Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs (GOTT), holding the high rank of S-class. Her past is marked by abandonment and isolation. As her mother, Dvergr, was also a GOTT ES member, Alv was left alone in an adoption center on a distant planet during her childhood. This early abandonment fueled a deep-seated anger, which she directed at the Nouvlesses, the ruling class she believed controlled GOTT and was responsible for her mother leaving her. Her formative years were difficult; as her powers began to manifest, she could not control them, which led to the deaths of many around her. Accused of crimes she did not commit and subjected to constant abuse, she became increasingly isolated and learned to trust no one. Her mother eventually returned for her and brought her to GOTT, where Alv learned to master her abilities.
Alv possesses a personality shaped by this painful history, leading to a cynical, power-hungry, and misanthropic worldview. She is vocal and displays a high-handed, arrogant attitude toward others, particularly those of lower rank or without abilities. She claims to work only for herself and takes visible pleasure in killing, showing no remorse for her actions. Her hatred for the Nouvlesses is a primary motivator; she blames them for her suffering and for treating her as a puppet, and she secretly pursues her own plans for revenge against them. While she is willing to play the role of a pawn when it suits her needs, her ultimate loyalty is to her own ambitions.
Her primary role in the story is as an antagonist, initially presented as a more powerful and senior colleague to other ES members. She later exploits a moment of crisis to seize control of GOTT and advance her vengeful plans, using her abilities to absorb the appearance and powers of others, including a fellow ES member. Her relationship with her partner, Dvergr, is complex and central to her character. Dvergr is not only her partner but also her biological mother, a fact that is revealed late in the series. Alv shows little affection or empathy for Dvergr, and her mother’s guilt-driven support seemingly enables Alv’s power-hungry behavior. Despite this, Dvergr remains loyal, assisting Alv in her schemes and revealing their true relationship in a critical moment.
Alv’s character development traces her descent from a powerful but troubled S-class agent to a full-scale threat. After being severely wounded in battle, she integrates with the colossal ship Deucalion as a last resort, transforming into energy to become one with the vessel and preparing to destroy humanity. In this form, she is ultimately defeated by the combined efforts of all the ES members. Following her defeat and the destruction of the Deucalion, a final, vulnerable moment occurs: from the ruins of the ship, Alv can be heard crying and calling out for her mother, as Dvergr consoles her just before they both sink into the sun.
Alv possesses several notable abilities. Her primary power is Absorb, which allows her to absorb virtually anything, including energy and people, granting her access to their appearances and special abilities. This ability is highly potent but functions only when activated together with her partner Dvergr and has a time limit. She also possesses the ability Reflex, which enables her to move and act normally even under conditions of intensely increased gravity.
