Edward Hamilton, almost universally referred to by his nickname Elder, is a supporting character who serves as a scientist for the Order of Magdalene, specifically heading its weapons development department. He is the inventor behind many of the specialized armaments used by the Order's exorcists, including the experimental Gospel bullet and the torch carried by sister Rosette Christopher.
