Novem is a member of the group known as the Gilgamesh, which consists of ten individuals who were contaminated by the life form Tear at the Heaven's Gate facility. He is the most charismatic and prominent among them. His appearance is marked by short blonde hair, blue eyes, and a fringe that typically covers one of his eyes. Novem consistently maintains a calm demeanor and often assumes a leadership role, giving orders to his teammates. He holds an unwavering belief that the mission of the Gilgamesh serves a sacred purpose, a conviction that remains unshaken regardless of the lives lost in pursuit of that goal. His composed and persuasive nature makes him a natural leader, and he plays a central role within the group's hierarchy. Novem becomes deeply involved with Kiyoko Madoka, eventually winning her affection. His motivations are tied directly to the larger objectives of the Gilgamesh, and he demonstrates little internal conflict or deviation from the group's path throughout the story. As one of the ten Gilgamesh, he possesses the ability to use Dynamis, a form of psychic energy that allows for telekinesis and other supernatural phenomena.
