Description
Qawool Towles is a young priestess who appears in El Hazard: The Alternative World. She is seventeen years old and holds the title of Priestess of Water at Mount Muldoon, making her the youngest person ever to attain that position. Before her appointment, she was the top student of her class, and she assumed the role after her predecessor, Miz Mishtal, retired from the priesthood to marry Masamichi Fujisawa. Qawool is described as a descendant of an unknown tribe of El-Hazard, and her origins are treated as mysterious as the story unfolds. She has blue eyes and blue hair cut to shoulder length.
In personality, Qawool is serious, diligent, and devoted to her duties as a priestess. She is loyal to the royal family, particularly Princess Rune Venus, and takes her protective responsibilities seriously. She has a pronounced fear of insects, and when confronted by them she panics, often destroying whatever is around her in the process. Despite her composed and disciplined demeanor, this weakness reveals a more vulnerable and impulsive side.
Her arrival as the new Water Priestess sets the events of the story in motion. During her initiation ceremony, a mysterious entity named Arjah appears and transports her, along with Makoto Mizuhara and the others, to an alternate world called Creteria, a bleak industrial kingdom ruled by a despot. Qawool's most significant relationships are with Makoto and her attendant Palnus, the twin brother of Alielle, who serves as her servant.
