Arale Norimaki is an android built by the inventor Senbei Norimaki in Penguin Village. Designed to resemble a young girl, she has long purple hair and wears oversized black glasses to correct her nearsightedness. To hide her artificial nature, Senbei introduces her as his younger sister or daughter. Arale possesses superhuman strength and genius-level intelligence, yet she is childlike, naive, and lacks common sense. Her playful and curious personality often leads to whimsical chaos, and she has a well-known fascination with poking feces with sticks, as well as a love for kaiju films and superheroes like Ultraman. She uses distinctive phrases such as “N’cha” for greetings, “Bye’cha” for farewells, “Hoyoyo” to express bewilderment, and shouts “Kiiin” while running with her arms outstretched. Her formidable abilities include the Earth Chop, which can split the ground, and energy beams like the N’cha Cannon. Arale attends Penguin Village Middle School, where she befriends Akane Kimidori and the Soramame brothers. She adopts Gatchan, a winged creature hatched from a prehistoric egg found during a time-travel adventure. Later, she marries Obotchaman, a fellow robot, and they raise a child together. Her family also includes Senbei’s wife Midori Yamabuki and her younger brother Turbo. Despite her immense power, Arale’s pure heart allows her to ride the Flying Nimbus cloud in crossover appearances, and she treats even serious conflicts with her characteristic playful innocence.
