Description
Ayame is a young kunoichi, or female ninja, who serves as one of the main characters in the Power Stone anime. While her official public identity is the cheerful star performer of a wandering theatrical troupe, this is a cover for her true lineage and skills. She hails from Moon Land and comes from a long line of ninjas, a heritage that grants her and her family the remarkable ability to control water in all its forms.

In the anime, Ayame is depicted as being around fourteen years old. She has a slender, petite build with long, dark hair which she typically wears tied up in a Japanese-style bun. Her standard outfit is a modified green kimono dress, tied up with ribbons and ropes to allow for freedom of movement during her acrobatic performances and ninja missions. For her covert activities, she dons a black ninja uniform, often accessorized with a long pink scarf.

Ayame's personality is a blend of energetic showmanship and serious determination. She is upbeat and tomboyish, projecting a lively and cheerful demeanor as a performer. However, beneath this sunny exterior lies a dedicated and skilled ninja, trained from a young age in unarmed combat and the wielding of weapons like shuriken and kunai. Initially, her primary motivation is to serve her master by acquiring the legendary Power Stones. To this end, she and her older brother, Kikunojo, relentlessly pursue the adventurer Edward Falcon, who possesses one of the stones.

Her role in the story begins as an antagonist, using various disguises and tricks in an attempt to steal Falcon's Power Stone. However, her motivations undergo a significant change following an early confrontation with Falcon. After a battle in which Ayame is injured, Falcon shows her compassion by tending to her wound. This simple act of kindness shifts her feelings, and she gradually develops a strong romantic crush on him, even as he remains oblivious and more interested in another character named Rouge. This personal conflict—between her duty as a ninja and her growing affection for her target—becomes a central part of her character arc. Ultimately, she confesses her true identity and intentions to Falcon, who forgives her. She then chooses to leave her family and her former life behind to travel the world with him.

Ayame's development is also marked by her growth as a wielder of the Power Stones. Her ninja lineage, combined with her strong emotions, allows her to bond with the Aqua Stone. When Falcon and his friends are in danger, the stone reveals itself to her, granting her the power to transform into a form known as the Cherry Blossom Dancer. In this powered-up state, her costume changes to a pink, rabbit-themed ninja outfit, and she gains access to powerful new techniques. Her signature ability in this form is called Come Forth Rain, where she uses a giant shuriken to control the weather itself.

In combat, Ayame relies on speed and agility rather than brute strength. Her fighting style is based on ninjutsu, making her one of the fastest characters, with the ability to double-jump and evade attacks with ease. While her individual attacks may not be very strong, her speed allows her to strike quickly and relentlessly. Her notable abilities include throwing flower-shaped shuriken and executing powerful special moves. One such move is the Hundred Flower Bloom, where she multiplies a single shuriken into a homing swarm. Another is the Cherry Blossom Dance, a rapid multi-hit combo that launches an opponent into the air before striking them with a barrage of needles. These abilities, combined with her acrobatic grace and ninja training, make her a formidable and unpredictable fighter.
