Description
Ares stands among the Twelve Olympians as the Greek God of War. He possesses an exceptionally tall, muscular physique, blond hair, gray eyes, and typically wears minimal attire: a loincloth (white in manga, black in anime), a cape, and an intricately carved helmet.

His personality blends divine arrogance toward humanity with significant emotional vulnerability and combat insecurity. He displays genuine fear when witnessing extreme power during Ragnarok matches and struggles to comprehend human capabilities, especially after Kojiro Sasaki defeats Poseidon. Interactions with gods like Hermes and Loki highlight his easily intimidated nature and relative weakness on Olympus. Yet, he shows humility in acknowledging Heracles' superiority and deeply respected him as his closest friend, mourning Heracles' death openly in Ragnarok's fourth round and vowing to fight in his honor.

His background includes fighting on the front lines of the Gigantomachy until severe injuries forced his retreat; he later celebrated the gods' victory. At the Gods' Council of 2000 B.C., he demanded the right to destroy Thebes for humanity's transgressions. Confronting the demigod Alcides at the city gates, Ares offered mercy in exchange for kneeling. Instead, Alcides consumed Ambrosia, gained Zeus-level strength, routed Ares' army, and engaged him in brutal combat. Zeus intervened to stop the fight. Ares later admitted he would have died had it continued and expressed disbelief when Alcides chose godhood to protect humanity, becoming Heracles.

During Ragnarok, Ares observes matches alongside Hermes and Zeus. In the second round (Zeus vs. Adam), he initially mocks human celebrations but grows increasingly shocked as Adam replicates Zeus' techniques. He confirms his ability to perceive most of Zeus' ultra-high-speed attacks (within 0.00000001 seconds) but concedes he couldn't track the final "Fist That Surpassed Time," admitting he could never defeat Adam. Hermes corrects his misinterpretation of the third round (Poseidon vs. Sasaki), highlighting Ares' tactical limits; he shares the shock at Poseidon's defeat. After Poseidon's death, Ares insists a Greek god represent them in the fourth round, rooting openly for his best friend Heracles.

When Buddha defects in the sixth round, Hermes mockingly suggests Ares as a replacement; Ares, despite visible fear, prepares to accept until Hades intervenes. In the seventh round (Hades vs. Qin Shi Huang), Qin Shi Huang casually overpowers Ares twice in the gods' VIP area. During the eighth round (Beelzebub vs. Tesla), Ares reacts with shock to Beelzebub's Chaos, expresses concern over Tesla's Warp, later admits relief at Beelzebub's victory, and acknowledges his inability to comprehend Tesla's final attack.

As a god, Ares possesses semi-immortality and a divine physiology granting physical capabilities far exceeding humans. Mortal weapons cannot harm him, though divine weapons or superhumanly strong opponents can. His status as God of War places him above average deities. He demonstrates significant strength, having exchanged blows with the demigod Heracles and kicked the mortal Alcides vast distances. His combat skills encompass proficient hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship, wielding a divine sword capable of harming other gods. His perception allows him to track attacks imperceptible to most gods, like Zeus' near-light-speed movements, though his physical reactions may not match this acuity.
