Description
Kenta Yoshitsune is a supporting character in Ao Ashi. He is a talented youth player who originally plays for the Esperion Youth A-Team as a right winger, wearing the number 11 shirt. A forward by trade, Yoshitsune is recognized as a player who is a clear class above his peers at the youth level. His physical attributes include a height of 181 centimeters, and his zodiac sign is Pisces.

As a player on the verge of a professional career, Yoshitsune is eventually promoted to the Esperion Senior Team alongside two other teammates, Yamada and Shimura, where he takes the number 18 shirt. However, his journey includes a significant setback in the form of an injury. While recovering and working his way back to full fitness, he is given playing time with the Esperion B-Team to regain his match sharpness.

When he plays with the B-Team, Yoshitsune is distinguished by his cool-headed and mature demeanor. He serves as the team's captain for those matches, a role that suits his composed personality. Unlike some of his more volatile teammates, he is understanding and supportive of others' pre-game rituals, such as when he allows Ashito Aoi the space to go for a run to clear his head before an important match.

His role in the story is largely that of a model for younger, less experienced players. For forwards like Tachibana, Yoshitsune’s presence is a double-edged sword, serving as a constant and intimidating benchmark of skill. For Ashito, who is still finding his identity as a fullback, Yoshitsune represents a high-level player to observe. However, Yoshitsune himself cautions against simple imitation. He advises a younger player to not try to be like him, explaining that every athlete must climb their own unique ladder to success. His talent is such that the coach, Fukuda, has even spoken about him to the A-Team, indicating the high regard in which he is held within the club's hierarchy.
