Description
Kanji Mochizuki, often referred to by the nickname Mocchi, is a prominent character featured in the Tenjiku arc of Tokyo Revengers, which includes the War of the Three Titans. He is a towering and physically imposing individual, standing at 192 centimeters tall with a powerful, robust build. His dark hair is styled into a distinctive rattail mohawk, featuring a braid that extends down to his neck, and his angular eyebrows contribute to an overall menacing and intimidating appearance. He typically wears a black shirt beneath the red uniform of the Tenjiku gang.

In terms of personality, Mochizuki is brusque, belligerent, and always eager to engage in a fight, displaying a hot-blooded nature that is common among the delinquents in the series. Despite his eagerness for violence, he holds a strong sense of honor in high regard, insisting on fair, one-on-one combat and openly scorning the use of underhanded or deceitful fighting tactics. He becomes genuinely excited when he encounters a worthy or particularly strong opponent. This love for a fair brawl defines his conduct in battle, even though he is not afraid to use surprise attacks if the situation calls for it.

Mochizuki's background establishes him as a formidable figure in the Tokyo Revengers universe. He was a former leader of a gang called Jukabu in Kawasaki and has a history marked by delinquency, including entering a juvenile detention center at the age of thirteen for assaulting a police officer who attempted to break up a fight. This early trouble with the law places him within the infamous S62 Generation, a cohort known for producing particularly brutal and powerful delinquents. His fighting prowess is such that he is recognized as one of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Yokohama-based Tenjiku gang, a title reserved for its strongest members. His raw power is immense, earning him the nickname Gorilla from Chifuyu Matsuno for his overwhelming strength, which is demonstrated when he launches Chifuyu a great distance with a single punch. He is also noted for having previously defeated the Kawata brothers, Nahoya and Souya, in the past.

Within the story of the Tenjiku arc, Mochizuki serves as a major antagonist and an executive of Tenjiku under its leader, Izana Kurokawa, whom he deeply respects and admires. He leads his own squad within the gang and is tasked with confronting the Tokyo Manji Gang. In his first appearance, he drags a beaten Chifuyu Matsuno before Takemichi Hanagaki, asserting Tenjiku's dominance and dismissing Toman as weak. He later engages in a fight with Takashi Mitsuya, which proves to be an even match until the intervention of the Haitani brothers. Despite his strength and status, he is later swiftly defeated by an enraged Souya Kawata, also known as Angry, who taps into his full potential. His key relationships include his loyalty to Izana Kurokawa, his respect for fighters like the Haitani brothers, and his rivalry with Chifuyu, who repeatedly stands up to him despite the difference in their physical strength.

Throughout the various timelines and conflicts, Mochizuki shows a degree of development and resilience. After the fall of Tenjiku, he continues to affiliate with major criminal organizations, eventually becoming an executive in the future criminal syndicate Bonten, led by Manjiro Sano, and later aligning with Rokuhara Tandai and the Kanto Manji Gang. In the final, more hopeful timeline, however, his character takes a redemptive turn. He abandons his life of crime and dedicates himself to working alongside former comrades like Kakucho and Shion Madarame at a non-profit organization that serves underprivileged orphans, showing a side that has moved beyond his violent past.
