Toshiaki works as a chimney sweeper in the town alongside Lubicchi, serving as both his colleague and friend. When the Inquisitors threaten Lubicchi's mother, Toshiaki fights alongside the other chimney sweepers against the authorities. This collective resistance aids Lubicchi and Poupelle in their struggle to reveal the stars hidden beyond the perpetual smog.
