Description
Haumea is a character from the anime and manga Fire Force. She is a young woman of seventeen years, standing 163 centimeters tall, with a birthday on February 18th. Her physical appearance is distinctive and memorable, characterized by a golden, crown-like visor that completely covers her eyes, leaving only her mouth visible. Her long, pale blonde hair is typically tied up in a high bun on top of her head. Her attire consists of a baggy white onesie that exposes her shoulders and arms, worn over a darker underlayer, complemented by white sandal-like shoes. She also has a tattoo on her left shoulder that resembles a reset button inside a sun. Her constant, often mocking smile, combined with her concealed eyes, gives her a mysterious and unsettling presence.

Haumea's personality is volatile and difficult to predict. On the surface, she is often cheerful, playfully enthusiastic, and sarcastic, with a tendency to laugh frequently and use a vulgar and foul mouth. However, this upbeat facade is punctuated by sudden, explosive bursts of anger over seemingly trivial matters. She displays a cruel and sadistic streak, finding amusement in tormenting others and showing little regard for the suffering she causes, whether to her enemies or, on occasion, her allies. Despite this childish and impulsive demeanor, she is brimming with confidence in her own abilities and the success of her schemes. This erratic and aggressive exterior is not her original personality. Haumea is constantly and involuntarily flooded with the thoughts and emotions of everyone around her due to her powers. This relentless mental intrusion has severely warped her natural disposition, which is revealed to be more pessimistic, gentle, quiet, and subdued.

Haumea serves as a major antagonist and is one of the key executives within the Evangelist's faction, also known as the White-Clad. Her primary motivation is to further the Evangelist's grand plan, which involves collecting all eight individuals known as the Pillars to bring about a second Great Disaster. As the Second Pillar herself, she possesses an Adolla Burst, a special power that makes her central to this goal. Her role in the story is often that of a puppet master and strategist, operating from the shadows to manipulate events and people rather than engaging in direct frontline combat. Her actions have had a profound and lasting impact on the main protagonist, Shinra Kusakabe, as she orchestrated the tragedy that tore his family apart.

Her most significant relationship is with her protector and partner, Charon. They have worked together since childhood, and he often acts as her enforcer and a shield against physical threats, while she handles more cerebral tasks. She also has a key relationship with Shō Kusakabe, the Third Pillar, whom she abducted as an infant and uses her powers to control his actions and suppress his memories. Within the Evangelist's faction, she holds a high rank, working alongside members like Yona and Arrow. Her primary adversarial relationship is with the Kusakabe brothers. For Shinra, she is the direct antagonist who caused his mother's Infernal form to kidnap his brother. For Shō, she is his manipulator and jailer. A unique rivalry exists between Haumea and Arthur Boyle. His Third Generation ability produces plasma, which naturally interferes with and neutralizes her electrical-based powers, making him one of the few individuals she cannot control and her natural nemesis.

Over the course of the story, Haumea remains a consistently dangerous and high-ranking threat. Her backstory reveals she has been serving the Evangelist since she was only five years old. During the cataclysmic fire at the Kusakabe home twelve years before the main story, a five-year-old Haumea used her powers to control Mari Kusakabe after she had turned into an Infernal. Under Haumea's command, Mari abducted her younger son, Shō, who had just awakened his own Adolla Burst, delivering him directly to the Evangelist. This single act is the core trauma that separates the Kusakabe brothers and drives much of the plot's central conflict. As the series progresses, she continues to be a formidable opponent, using her abilities to locate new Pillars and control allies and enemies alike. Her development is less about personal change and more about the revelation of the deep psychological damage her powers have inflicted on her, explaining her twisted personality as a necessary defense mechanism against the constant noise of other people's minds.

Haumea is a Third Generation pyrokinetic, but she does not manipulate fire in a conventional way. Her ignition ability allows her to convert heat energy directly into electrical energy. This fundamental power gives her a wide array of terrifying and versatile abilities. She can generate powerful electric shocks for offensive purposes, create electromagnetic force fields for defense, and use electromagnetism to adhere to metal surfaces or disrupt electronic systems. The most dangerous application of her electricity is its use as neural signals. By manipulating the electrical impulses of a person's brain and nervous system, she can read their surface thoughts and emotions. More focused control allows her to override their free will, hijacking their motor functions to control them like puppets, forcing them to move and fight against their will. This control is so potent that she can command even transformed beings like Infernals. Her signature technique, known as Radio Head, amplifies this ability, allowing her to broadcast her thoughts and commands directly into the minds of multiple people over a long distance, acting as both a surveillance and control network. Despite her immense power, Haumea has a critical weakness: her electrical signals are significantly disrupted or neutralized by the presence of plasma. This makes Arthur Boyle and his plasma-based sword, Excalibur, a perfect counter to her abilities, as she is unable to read his mind or control his body. This weakness is the primary reason she cannot simply dominate every opponent she faces.
