TV-Series
Description
Marcus is a former member of the Demon Lord's Six Demonic Generals, a group of elite vassals who once served the Demon Lord Veltol in the magical world of Alneath. In the original era, he was known for his mastery of magic related to blood and for being immortal. Five hundred years after the Fantasion event that merged Alneath with Earth, Marcus resurfaces in the cyberpunk metropolis of Shinjuku, where he has transformed himself into a high-ranking official within the city's administration and a powerful corporate CEO. He holds significant influence over the integration of magic and technology that defines the year 2099.

In terms of personality, Marcus is cunning, arrogant, and deeply self-centered. He is driven by personal ambition and a desire for power above all else. He thinks mostly about himself and does not care about betraying others if it serves his own interests. He hated Veltol, who was once his superior, and resented being beneath him. This resentment festered over the centuries and ultimately led him to betray the Demon Lord after he was resurrected in the modern world. He is pragmatic and calculating, often operating in the grey areas of the law to maintain his position and expand his influence.

His primary motivation is the pursuit of personal power and status. To further this goal, he joins the Holy New World Church, a powerful religious organization in the setting, solely as a means to grow his own power. He views the resurrected Demon Lord as either a potential asset to be exploited or a threat to be contained, and he closely monitors Veltol's activities to ensure they do not disrupt his own plans. Marcus serves as a bridge between the ancient magic of Veltol's time and the cold, efficient corporate structure of the cyberpunk future, often forced to choose between corporate loyalty and the survival of the city.

Marcus occupies a key antagonistic role in the story. He is a former ally turned enemy, and his betrayal is one of the first major challenges Veltol faces after his revival. The Demon Lord learns of Marcus's betrayal firsthand early in the narrative, and much of the early conflict revolves around their opposing goals. As a high-ranking official and corporate leader, Marcus represents the established power structures of Shinjuku that Veltol must navigate or overthrow.

In terms of key relationships, Marcus has a deeply antagonistic connection with Veltol, born from his hatred of being subordinate to the Demon Lord. He maintains a tense and professional relationship with Machina Soleige, Veltol's loyal retainer, who views Marcus's betrayal with deep disdain. His interactions with other characters are generally transactional, as he forms alliances only when they serve his purposes and abandons them when they become inconvenient.

Regarding development, Marcus begins as a trusted general in Veltol's army and gradually transforms into a calculating corporate power broker over the five centuries since the Fantasion. His character arc is defined by his shift from a direct subordinate to an independent schemer who seeks to surpass his former master. He represents the changes that time and ambition have wrought on the old world's hierarchy.

Notable abilities include his exceptional skill in blood-related magic, which makes him a formidable combatant. He is also immortal, having survived the five centuries since the original era, which allows him to accumulate knowledge and influence over a long period. In the modern setting, he combines his magical prowess with the technological infrastructure of Shinjuku, making him a significant threat both in direct confrontation and in the political and corporate arenas.
