Description
Astrid, princess of Evermore in a parallel realm, inherits two legacies from her deceased mother: a dagger that pierces magical barriers and the Aegis Spell, a retaliatory shield guarding her from harm. These artifacts prove pivotal in clashes against adversaries. Bound by a soulmate link to Kotona Takashina from another world, their fates are lethally entwined—a dynamic fueling the story’s stakes. A cursed shadow-dagger lodged in her chest defies royal healers, leaving her survival dependent on Yu, an otherworldly traveler who extracts the blade. The ordeal leaves a lingering scar, later purified through a ritual dance at the Lake of Purity with Yu’s aid.

Compassionate yet resolute, Astrid grapples with isolation stemming from her title; she senses others’ respect stems from duty, not genuine care. Her father’s emotional distance and her mother’s absence deepen this loneliness, though her servant Dandy offers rare solace. She envies Kotona’s capacity for authentic bonds, yearning for connections unshackled by obligation.

Astrid actively shapes her destiny: she challenges the unjust treatment of Yu and Haru, disrupts a colosseum trial designed to test their loyalty, and equips Yu with her mother’s dagger to face Galeroth. Her combat magic and ritual expertise, including the Magic Sealing Dance, underscore her prowess. In the final battle, she joins Haru against Galeroth—her vengeful uncle, the deposed Crown Prince Sedulus Astrum—defending Evermore’s throne.

Post-victory, a portal bridging worlds opens. Though urging Yu to return home, he stays, revealed as native to Evermore. The story closes with Astrid beside Yu as he ascends the throne, their union heralding stability for the kingdom.
