Kray Foresight, the primary antagonist, holds the dual roles of Promepolis’ governor and Foresight Foundation director. Publicly celebrated as a hero for inventing fireproof materials and instant-freeze bullets to counter Burnish fires, his reputation hinges on a fabricated rescue of young Galo Thymos from a fire—a blaze Kray himself ignited accidentally while suppressing his latent Burnish pyrokinesis. He then staged the event to craft a savior persona, even feigning the loss of his left arm.
Earlier, Kray partnered with scientist Deus Prometh to develop fire-resistant technology. When ethical disputes arose, he murdered Prometh, stole his research, and claimed sole credit. Initially experimenting to suppress Burnish abilities, he pivoted to harnessing their energy for the Prometech engine, a warp drive central to his Parnassus Project. This scheme aimed to evacuate 10,000 chosen elites to a new world, fueled by draining captured Burnish lives. However, the process provoked the Promare—interdimensional flame entities tied to the Burnish—to destabilize Earth with magma surges.
Outwardly, Kray projects calm authority, his regal blonde hairstyle, concealed prosthetic arm, and composed expression cementing his image as Promepolis’ protector. Privately, his Burnish form manifests with multicolored flaming hair, a molten magma arm, and frenzied eyes.
His manipulation of Galo defines their dynamic. After orchestrating Galo’s recruitment into the perilous Burning Rescue unit to engineer his demise, Kray grows resentful as Galo survives repeated missions. Later, he imprisons Galo for opposing the Parnassus Project, confronts him in a mecha battle, and admits to causing the childhood fire.
Kray coerces scientist Heris Ardebit into aiding his experiments and captures Lio Fotia, leader of the Mad Burnish, to power the Prometech engine. His selective salvation plan masks a god complex, prioritizing personal legacy over humanity’s survival.
After the Prometech engine’s destruction and the Promare’s departure, Kray loses his Burnish powers, faces arrest, and seethes with bitterness toward Galo and Lio, who saved Earth without sacrifice. Confined to a prison cell in official artwork, he ruminates on his thwarted ambitions.
Consistently portrayed across media, Kray’s arc reveals a manipulative pragmatist whose heroic facade crumbles to expose ruthless self-interest, culminating in downfall by underestimating those he sought to control.
