Description
Fubuki Samejima, a celebrated high school baseball player from Hiroshima, earned renown as the "shortstop of the century" and was affiliated with Akishima Industries before joining the 7 Seeds project. His surname blends the kanji for "shark" (鮫) and "island" (島), while "Fubuki" translates to "snowstorm." He underwent cryogenic preservation as a member of Team Winter.

Physically tall and muscular, Fubuki had medium-length black hair and refined features. His personality radiated cheerfulness and excitability, especially when discussing baseball—evidenced by his vigorous shaking of teammate Takahiro during such conversations. Beneath this upbeat exterior lay formidable inner strength, self-confidence, and fierce protectiveness toward those close to him. He resolved to shield Takahiro and Mitsuru from post-apocalyptic dangers, urging resilience through hardships. Personality analysis indicated ISTP traits and Enneagram 8w9 tendencies, emphasizing practicality, independence, a drive for control, and occasional emotional distance due to logic-driven decisions.

Fubuki hunted small animals using stones propelled by his baseball bat. After awakening from cryosleep near Hokkaido’s coast, he discovered three desiccated corpses nearby. Team guide Kumakawa revealed their cryopreservation aimed to save humanity after a global catastrophe. Tragedy struck immediately: a saber-toothed tiger killed Kumakawa and mutilated Mutsuki, who later chose suicide. Only Fubuki, Mitsuru, and Takahiro survived. During their journey, Fubuki developed romantic feelings for Mitsuru, facilitated by teammate Aramaki, while maintaining unwavering focus on protecting the group.

He evolved from self-reliance toward trusting his teammates, enhancing his leadership and fostering collective resilience. In a later encounter with the saber-toothed tiger, Fubuki sacrificed himself to shield Takahiro and Mitsuru, resulting in his death.

Fubuki long dreamed of playing baseball with Aramaki, a wish fulfilled upon meeting him, cementing an instant friendship. He disliked dogs but cherished cats.
