Born in the 17th century, Walken achieved the mage rank of Quatrede (Rank 4). He maintains a contractual marriage with Selphy, a childlike-appearing sylph water spirit. This relationship often draws negative perceptions due to Selphy's youthful form, prompting Walken to restrict her summoning on academy grounds.

Prior to his academic career, Walken explored dangerous ruins, a profession he retired from owing to a troublemaking reputation. Following retirement, he joined the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy faculty and eventually rose to headmaster. His unconventional decisions include hiring staff like Glenn Radars as an instructor purely for personal amusement, based solely on a professor's recommendation.

Walken serves as a secret-keeper within the academy, notably aware that the student Rumia is actually Princess Ermiana, presumed deceased. He remains actively involved in both academy operations and broader conflicts, such as the Invasion of Fejite. His background as an explorer implies he retains considerable combat prowess.
