Description
Arceus, revered as the Original One, stands as a divine entity within Pokémon mythology, said to have shaped the Pokémon universe and birthed beings like Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and the lake guardians Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit. Emerging from an egg in a primordial void, it forged the world with its thousand arms. In antiquity, Arceus averted a meteor catastrophe by expending its sixteen Life Plates, nearly perishing until a human named Damos recovered the plates, reviving its power. In gratitude, Arceus fused five plates—Water, Grass, Ground, Electric, and Dragon—into the Jewel of Life, rejuvenating the barren Michina region. This act stripped Arceus of critical defenses, leaving it exposed.

Centuries later, Arceus awakened to reclaim the Jewel, only to face betrayal by Damos, manipulated by Marcus, a power-hungry schemer. Enraged, Arceus obliterated Michina’s temple and withdrew into dormancy, vowing retribution. When reawakened in the modern era, it unleashed devastating energy beams and summoned meteors. Sheena, Damos’s descendant, sought peace by returning the Jewel, but a counterfeit incited further fury. Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina countered its onslaught, with Dialga transporting Ash and allies to the past. There, Marcus’s deceit was exposed, and Damos’s true loyalty restored the Jewel, mending history and appeasing Arceus.

Arceus wields the Multitype ability, altering its elemental affinity using held Plates or Z-Crystals to adapt offensively and defensively. Its signature move, Judgment, and amplified versions of Roar of Time, Spacial Rend, and Shadow Force underscore its might. It communicates telepathically, occasionally through human speech, and exerts influence across dimensions. In *Pokémon Legends: Arceus*, it guides humans via the Arc Phone, urging them to unite all Pokémon. Spin-offs like *Pokémon Masters EX* depict it empowering Trainers with heightened skills.

Though godlike, Arceus bears weaknesses. Deprived of specific Plates, its resistances falter, as seen when electric attacks overwhelmed it during Marcus’s betrayal. It nurses enduring grudges yet forgives when injustices are remedied, exemplified by its reconciliation with Damos’s lineage. Beyond destruction, Arceus shields the world from calamities and fosters human-Pokémon harmony, though it often guides from afar rather than intervening directly.
