Description
Hell Deathbird commands as military chief of the Ocean Empire, an enigmatic undersea dominion that conquers Earth’s oceans in 20XX. Exploiting the grievances of the Water World Men—sunlight-sensitive humanoids—he aligns with their anti-pollution cause to seize authority. Driven by ambition, he deposes Queen Ze Violencia, confining the terminally ill monarch to usurp her throne. His authoritarian reign imposes strict control over surface vessels, mandating imperial permission for passage and enforcing edicts through militarized force.

Ruthlessness defines his rule: he annihilates an Ocean Empire colony with its population trapped inside, an act that fractures his subordinate General Zelbert’s loyalty. Zelbert’s rebellion fails, ending in his death, while Hell Deathbird’s resolve remains unshaken. Contrasting his tyranny is his sincere bond with secretary Ze Strait, whose unwavering devotion survives his escalating cruelty. Her sacrifice—intercepting lethal shrapnel to shield him—precipitates his spiral into madness, culminating in a kamikaze strike against his foes by detonating his submarine alongside theirs.

A critical miscalculation emerges when he postpones destroying the *Super 99* to revel in triumph, granting adversaries time to disable his torpedoes. Susumu Oki exploits this flaw, detonating lodged torpedoes with a modified Type 99 rifle to cripple the submarine. Defiant to the end, Hell Deathbird rejects surrender, immolating himself in a final act of defiance.

His legacy echoes beyond his death: a hinted romance between his subordinate Ze Stroger and Susumu Oki foreshadows descendants piloting a spaceborne *Super 99* generations later, threading themes of conflict and unity across eras between surface and oceanic civilizations.
