Éric Peter was a French actor and voice director, born on July 13, 1963. He passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 62. Active in the entertainment industry since the late 1970s, he built a prolific career spanning animation, video games, and live-action dubbing, becoming a prominent figure in French voice acting.

Peter's work in anime was extensive, with his deep and powerful voice bringing a wide array of characters to life. He was the French voice of Magenta, the commander of the revived Red Ribbon Army, in the film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. His involvement in the Dragon Ball franchise also included roles in Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and various specials, where he voiced characters such as Bergamo, Nappa, and Dodoria. In the 2003 series Submarine Super 99, he voiced two distinct characters, Goro Oki and the antagonist Hell Deathbird, and also served as the voice director for the French adaptation. He portrayed Kenichi Sakaki in the OVA series Behind Closed Doors and took on the role of Satake in Nine O'Clock Woman. Peter also lent his voice to the iconic space pirate Albator in several works set in Leiji Matsumoto's universe, including Space Symphony Maetel ~Ginga Tetsudō 999 Gaiden~ and Cosmo Warrior Zero Gaiden. His other notable anime roles included Qulid in Legend of Crystania: The Chaos Ring, Alucard in the first Hellsing anime, and Aokiji in One Piece.

Beyond anime, Eric Peter had a significant presence in video games. He was the original French voice of Kratos in the first three God of War games. His other game credits included Brick in the Borderlands series, Volibear in League of Legends, and Adam Smasher in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. In addition to his performance work, he also contributed as a voice director on projects such as the French dubs of GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka and Kimagure Orange Road.
