TV-Series
Description
Hutch is a male honeybee drone of royal descent, the son of a queen bee. His early life is marked by tragedy when wasps destroy his native hive, killing nearly all the bees and eggs. The queen is forced to flee, but a single egg survives, hidden beneath a leaf. It is discovered and rescued by a female bumblebee, who raises him as her own among her family.

Growing up, Hutch faces ostracism and bullying from his adoptive siblings due to his differing appearance. After learning he is adopted and uncovering his true origins, he sets out on a journey to find his biological mother. This quest forms the central narrative, filled with challenges and hostile encounters across the natural world.

Initially naive, vulnerable, and quick to tears, Hutch evolves through his experiences, gaining both physical courage and mental resilience. He possesses a strong sense of justice and deep compassion, often aiding other insects and animals in need—even those who are initially hostile. This compassion sometimes leads to tragedy, as many allies he meets suffer violent ends.

A turning point occurs when he reunites with a female honeybee named Aya, who is revealed to be his younger sister. This connection eases his profound loneliness and deepens his sense of responsibility. Hutch eventually locates his mother, the queen, and helps rescue her and rebuild their bee kingdom.

The story continues in a sequel, beginning with another wasp attack that results in the loss of the queen and the destruction of the rebuilt hive. Hutch and Aya then embark on a new journey to find a place called the Beautiful Hill, where they aim to establish a new kingdom with Aya as queen. Along the way, they are joined by new companions, including a young ladybug named Tenten, and must confront a vengeful young wasp named Abachi, who mistakenly believes Hutch caused his father’s death. This conflict is ultimately resolved through reconciliation.

Throughout his experiences, Hutch remains an all-loving hero, determined and protective, especially toward his sister and other vulnerable creatures. His prolonged hardships and losses contribute to his personal growth and reinforce his resolve to protect others and pursue peace.
