Description
Shatta, a blue-skinned warrior and descendant of the Sol tribe from Tamas's subterranean realm, leads a gang of street children in Arcana's surface world, surviving through crime. His driving motivation is the pursuit of the Egg of Touto, which he believes holds the spirit of his deceased mother, Koram. This quest forces him into direct conflict with Palme, the puppet protagonist carrying the egg.
Shatta initially exhibits malice toward Palme, attempting to seize the egg by force. His actions include threatening Palme's companions and taking the girl Popo hostage to extract the kooloop-tree oil essential for the egg's survival. This antagonism stems from unresolved grief and a desire to reconnect with his mother.
As the narrative unfolds, Shatta's background is revealed: his mother, Koram, was a heroic but unloved warrior from Tamas who died journeying to the world's roof (Touto) without reaching her destination. Her spirit becomes entangled with Palme's fate, creating a parallel between her unfinished quest and Shatta's pursuit. This revelation shifts his role from adversary to reluctant ally.
During the climax, Shatta witnesses Koram's spirit finding peace through Palme's intervention. This experience catalyzes his development, transforming hostility into respect. He aids Palme in delivering the egg to the ancient kooloop tree Soma in Tamas, contributing directly to the journey's culmination. His arc concludes with reconciliation as he accepts his mother's legacy and helps fulfill her original mission.
