Description
Marion Phauna was born on February 28, 1987, in Napoli, Italy, the daughter of a mafia boss and a fortune teller. She inherited slight psychic abilities from her mother, including latent telekinetic powers that manifested young, enabling her to manipulate puppets and psychically foresee the time of people's deaths. Her spirit partner is Chuck, an Old West gunslinger whose spirit haunted a revolver; this revolver, given by her father, was embedded in a doll sewn by her mother, becoming Marion's medium. Chuck promised to protect her. Her childhood was marked by trauma after her father was betrayed and killed, and her mother died horribly during an escape attempt. Enemies pursued her until Asakura Hao intervened, using his Spirit of Fire to eliminate them, securing her eternal loyalty.

Marion initially appeared during the Shaman Fight as part of Team "Hana-Gumi" with Kanna Bismarch and Matilda Matisse. Characterized by a calm demeanor, she frequently expressed boredom with life. Despite her gloomy gothic lolita appearance—typically wearing black dresses, hair ties, shoes, and white knee stockings—she exhibited intense emotions, particularly when defending Hao or confronting those who insulted him. She often voiced desires to kill enemies, stemming from childhood experiences where she was shunned and called a witch.

In the tournament's second round, Marion and her team attempted to claim the souls of Redseb and Seyrarm for Hao's Spirit of Fire. During their fight against Tamamura Tamao and Tao Jun, Marion wielded Chuck in combat, oscillating between tears over the fight's intensity and declarations of intent to kill. Asakura Mikihisa thwarted their efforts, defeating them easily, slapping all three, and admonishing Marion that dolls are "meant to be played with." Magna, a Patch officiant, later halted their retaliation, citing their continued usefulness to Hao.

A turning point occurred when Hao's follower Peyote Diaz exposed Hao's ability to read minds and his lack of genuine concern for his followers. After Peyote's suicide, Marion and Hana-Gumi's spirits sought Hao, realizing he intended to sacrifice them to the Spirit of Fire. Kyoyama Anna rescued them, relocating their spirits to Team "Funbari Onsen." Marion lamented her life choices and Hao's betrayal, leading Anna to recruit her and her teammates as waitresses for the future Funbari Onsen. Revived after the tournament, Marion later offered to remain with the Great Spirit on the Soul Train if Hao desired it.

Seven years post-tournament, Marion attended high school with Kanna and Matilda. By 2018, all three worked as waitresses at the Funbari Onsen, wearing pink floral kimonos with light blue sashes. Now known as the "Hana-Gumi Waitresses," they frequently neglected duties, preferring online games, and faced scolding from the inn's manager, Tamamura Tamao, who threatened them with Dai Tengu to enforce discipline. Marion retained her gloomy disposition, expressing a preference for combat over work and reacting aggressively to insults; she and her team attacked Asakura Luca after being called "hags" and prepared a blood transfusion for the injured Tao Men. They also reacted with frustration to criticisms of Hao from characters like Redseb Muntzer.

Physically, she has blond hair and green eyes. Her early gothic lolita attire was later replaced by the waitress kimono. In Japanese media, she speaks in the third person, a trait absent in English adaptations. Her character development transitioned from a vengeful follower of Hao to a resigned but temperamental employee at the onsen, retaining her core traits of emotional volatility and occasional bloodthirstiness despite her redemption arc.
