Carrie Keranen is an American voice actress, voice director, and producer known for a wide range of roles in anime and animation. Born in Oak Park, Michigan, she developed an early interest in acting through high school plays, though she was also active in sports. She attended the University of Michigan, where she initially planned to major in international business with a focus on Japanese, but her involvement in theatre led her to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Linguistics. After time in Europe, she moved to New York City to pursue an acting career before relocating to Los Angeles in 2010.

Keranen's career in voice acting began with 4Kids Entertainment, where her first audition was for the role of April O'Neil in the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Although she did not get that part, she secured supporting roles and guest voices in the Pokémon TV series. Her first major role came when she was cast as Mokuba Kaiba in the English adaptation of Yu-Gi-Oh!, stepping in for voice actress Tara Sands. During her time in New York, she often worked under the pseudonyms Caroline Lawson and Evelyn Lanto.
