Description
Matilda Matisse, nicknamed Matti, is a Northern Scottish druid marked by a brash and fiery temperament. Born July 19, 1986, in Scotland, her early shamanic gifts provoked her parents to abandon her in the forest. Discovered by an elderly witch, she was raised in isolation, trained in herbal lore, broomcraft, and witchcraft. The witch’s death, met with village indifference, cemented Matilda’s distrust of humanity.
After burying her foster mother with the aid of Asakura Hao, a shattered seal unleashed Jack, the vengeful spirit of a Jack the Ripper-inspired killer. Defying the peril of allying with Hao, Matilda bound Jack as her guardian ghost.
Her striking orange hair and violet-purple eyes contrast with practical attire: a white undershirt, black overalls, and boots, paired with a witch’s broom. In Tokyo’s Shaman Fight, she sported green pants, a black top, and crimson forehead goggles. Later, at Funbari Onsen, she embraced a pink floral kimono with a light blue sash, twisting her hair into a jack-o’-lantern bun.
As the most optimistic member of Team Hana-Gumi—alongside Kanna Bismarch and Marion Phauna—she harbors fierce loyalty to Hao, convinced of their unique understanding of him. This devotion falters momentarily when Asakura Mikihisa strikes her, triggering outrage over the unprecedented act.
Jack’s spirit inhabits the knife within her pumpkinhead doll. Her Over Soul manifests as a skeletal pumpkin doll, its ribs morphing into blades wielded by Jack. She propels this entity into battle using her broom.
These elements—her fractured upbringing, volatile alliances, and spectral powers—intertwine, driving her through a life shaped by resilience and defiance.
