Matilda Matisse is a shaman from England, born on July 19, 1986. She was originally one of Hao Asakura’s followers and a member of the team called Hana-Gumi. After the Shaman Fight, she had nowhere to go and was taken in by Anna Kyoyama, eventually working as a live-in maid at the Asakura household. In Shaman King Flowers, she appears as a supporting character who continues to serve Anna and protect the family. Her personality is the most cheerful of the Hana-Gumi members; she is grateful to Hao for helping her in the past and holds deep loyalty toward him. At the same time, she carries a sadness from having been called a witch by others, which has shaped her desire to be accepted. Despite her lighthearted demeanor, she can be emotionally sensitive, as seen when she reacts strongly to being struck by Asakura Mikihisa. Her motivations are rooted in gratitude and a wish to belong, leading her to fight for Hao’s cause and later for the Asakura household. In the story, she participates in battles alongside Kanna and Marion, notably fighting Tamao Tamamura while Kanna faces Jun Tao. Her notable abilities as a shaman include the use of an Over Soul called Jack, which she employs with a move named Trick and Treat.
