Description
Kalim, a Patch Tribe member and one of the Ten Patch Officiants overseeing the Shaman Fight, partners with Silva, tempering his friend’s impulsiveness with grounded reasoning. Born April 24, 1971, his name honors the tribe’s elemental tradition, derived from potassium (Kalium). Towering and powerfully built, he sports waist-length black curls, a red feathered headband, and a bull skull adorning his groin. His battle regalia features a Native American cloak with a silver bull chest plate symbolizing Black Sickle—his guardian ghost, a spectral bull channeled through bone and skull mediums for his Over Soul. Off-duty, he dons casual wear: striped yellow shirts, brown jackets, and jeans while hawking handmade crafts alongside Silva in Tokyo’s bustling streets.

Tasked with evaluating shamans, Kalim oversees Horohoro’s trials, enforcing impartiality by thwarting external meddling during the Icemen’s duel with Yoh Asakura. His serene composure belies raw power—crushing ice barriers barehanded and deploying his centaur-like Over Soul for devastating charges like "Run Bull Bull Bullarm" and "Bone Dead Bone." When personal vendettas arise, such as Chrom’s demise, he urges Silva to uphold neutrality. Later, his clash with Horohoro on the Plateau’s fifth plant unearths the shaman’s buried trauma, exposing Kororo as Tamiko’s spirit and resolving Horohoro’s anguish. Though bested, Kalim honors his growth, their rivalry dissolving into respect. Memorialized by a bull-skull-marked grave post-defeat, he later resurfaces within the Great Spirit during the final conflict.

Beyond battle, Kalim navigates Tokyo’s hardships with pragmatic resilience, sparring with Silva over frugal living and blood phobia that contrasts his stoic exterior. His disdain for needless violence drives advocacy for officiant intervention to curb casualties, reflecting an ethical core. As both enforcer and mentor, he balances stern duty with quiet empathy, catalyzing allies’ evolution while upholding the Patch Tribe’s sacred mandate.
